How to prepare for a flea control treatment
Like most insect treatments their requires a small amount of preparation before any type of treatment can go ahead. Listed below are a few advisories that you can do to help the treatment to run smoothly and go to plan.
If all of the above has been prepared before we arrive, your treatment should only take approximately around 30 minutes to complete.
- Have you treated your pets for fleas in the last 28 days? - Cats and dogs should be individually treated at least 24 hours before we complete any type of treatment at your property.
- Have you arranged for your pets to leave the property while the treatment is being completed - We advise that all pets (cats, dogs, birds) are removed from the property before we arrive. Fish tanks can be covered with a blanket or sheet. This is only while the treatments dries (around 2-3 hours).
- Have you vacuumed your property? - Your property should be vacuumed thoroughly before the treatment can be carried out. In some cases the property cannot be vacuumed for a number of days afterward.
- Are the floors free of clutter? - Floors should be cleared of toys, shoes, bags etc. This will help the insecticide get into all the hard to reach areas, this will well speed the treatment up and help eradicate your problem faster.
- Do you have somewhere to go post treatment? - We advise that you arrange to leave the property for around 2-3 hours once treatment has been completed. This will allow the treatment plenty of time to dry and start to take effect.
If all of the above has been prepared before we arrive, your treatment should only take approximately around 30 minutes to complete.
